East Brunswick II
With baby #2 on the way, this young family wanted to future proof their daughter’s bedroom to accommodate another sibling and inspire imagination and creativity whilst providing practical storage and maximising the functionality of this tiny space. Studio May re-planned the existing area by eliminating redundant storage and relocating the door. Customised joinery and a new raked ceiling, northern skylight and wall lights transformed the experience of light and volume within this interior. Plush carpet, Raw plywood and the careful execution of joinery datum lines intersect to form lofty shelving, bunk beds and floating storage without the bulk of traditional wardrobes. The Result is an inviting, light and playful space bought to life with the fun of children’s playthings.
